Colsterworth

The church stands on an apparent Roman site close to Ermine Street and the High Dyke Roman road. The crude herringbone work of relatively large slabs survives only the Romanesque arcade, surrounded by the later church.  One of the arch hood stops is decorated with a much mutilated sheelanagig while on the tower and NW wall are 3 exhibitionists exposing either their genitals or ani.
