Tockenham Church

Tokenham was another vill held by the Mortimers of Wigmore probably from 1075. The vill was first mentioned in a charter of King Ini of Wessex (d.726). Mortimer control of this vill seems to have ended during the Anarchy.

The church is again a simple chancel and nave structure with an early font. Much of the work is said to have been undertaken by Hugh Despenser before his downfall in 1326.
