Aldworth Church
Aldworth came into the hands of the Mortimers
of Wigmore
probably in the twelfth century. A fine series of fourteenth
century effigies within the church are supposed to represent the La
Beche family. The tower and chancel may well date back to the
time of Mortimer lordship.
