Le Plessis Mace

A suppossedly eleventh century rectangular keep on a motte has been cut down and converted into a 2 storey house crowned with odd turrets.  The quadrangular thirteenth century ward has round and D shaped towers and a rectangular gatehouse with drawbridge across the still wet moat.  This all protects the castle apartments which were totally reconstructed in the fifteenth century.

Why not join me here and at other French castles?  Information on this and other tours can be found at Scholarly Sojourns.
