Le Plessis Mace
A suppossedly eleventh
century rectangular keep on a motte has been cut down and converted
into a 2 storey house crowned with odd turrets. The
quadrangular thirteenth century ward has round and D shaped towers and
a rectangular gatehouse with drawbridge across the still wet moat.
This all protects the castle apartments which were totally
reconstructed in the fifteenth century.
