Lammerside
An odd little castle some mile and a half north-west of Pendragon
castle.
It consists of a tower some 45' by 35' thought to
have been abandoned by the Wharton family in the 1600s. It
has a barrel vaulted basement with a floor above. The general
thinness of the walls and weak positioning suggest it was more of a
border pele than a true castle.
